IIBM receives delegation from Leiden University to strengthen international scientific collaboration

The Institute of Biological and Medical Engineering (IIBM) received a visit from a delegation from the Leiden Universityduring a conference aimed at promoting international collaboration and the development of joint research initiatives.

The delegation consisted of Jasper KnoesterDean of the Faculty of Science, recognized for his work in materials physics and nanophotonics; Erik DanenDean of the Graduate School of Science and researcher in cell signaling and development of cancer therapies; and Fons Verbeekprofessor of computational bioimaging, specializing in biomedical image analysis.

During the visit, the authorities and academics of the IIBM presented the main lines of research of the institute, generating a space for dialogue and exchange around areas of common interest such as artificial intelligence, bioengineering, life sciences and health.

The meeting identified concrete opportunities for interdisciplinary collaboration, including the development of joint projects, academic exchange and the strengthening of international networks.

This meeting is part of the IIBM’s internationalization strategy, which seeks to consolidate alliances with leading global institutions and contribute to the advancement of scientific knowledge with an impact on society.
